The Bordoodle is a mixed-breed dog - a cross between the dog breeds Border Collie and Poodle. Friendly, playful and intelligent, these puppies inherit some of the best qualities from both their parents.
Bordoodles are sometimes also known as Borpoos and Borderpoos.
The Bordoodle is one of the newest dog breeds, so there is not much accurate information about how they first appeared on the scene. But if you look at the history of their parent breeds, you can begin to understand where the Bordoodle came from.
The Poodle breed can be traced all the way back to ancient Egypt. The dog then became popular in France as a duck-hunting dog.
The Border Collie is said to have been loved by Queen Victoria and descended from British sheepdogs. At one point, the Border Collie was even known as the Scottish Sheepdog!
When people describe their Bordoodles, they usually say that they are both very social and highly intelligent dogs. This is true. The mixed breed usually gets along well with families and enjoys being part of daily activities and routines.
They love to chill and cuddle, but also enjoy participating in play sessions with children. The breed's intelligence means they can also handle training well and like to be mentally stimulated.
